given ms current financial situation not keeping expectations, keep an eye on both the the forums enthusiasm and the quarterly financial reports. my guess would be sooner rather than later. i'd bet two bucks late sept to mid october.

don't think so KrAze, in any event it will have to go to pc manufacturers first as a RTM, consider the poor folks buying Dell as the last closed beta before release. (and first source for on release fixes to the public at large) also, the financial markets report end october, i will stand. two bucks, are we on?

I respectfully withdraw and *bow* at the amount of thought you put into that ... you are 100% right. But this time judging from beta 1 they might be quite happy. I think windows 7 beta 1 is way better then Vista RTM

I think it'll come out in August before school starts.

So do we think the new builds will be distributed through Windows Update or will we need to download and burn the ISO?

With each new version a complete new install will be needed, or so I've read. Even when the final release comes out it will not be upgradeable from a beta version.
