Gadgets dissapear with IE-11 on Win7

    Just downloaded IE-11 developer preview. (Win7 pro sp1 IE-10)
After reboot all of my gadgets disappeared.
Still there on rt. click dialog box on desktop but when I click nothing happens.
Also clicked in control panel same result.
Ran sfc /scannow and did not fix.
    Rebooted and still not there.
I am running Shortcut Manager (Frameworkx\FxVisor) to remove arrows on shortcuts and I think this program might not let my gadgets launch.
Maybe, maybe not but did a system restore and all came back and I will now wait for final release of IE-11.

That happened to me too. The 11 install installed an update before the browser and I can't remember the number, At any rate something reset the desktop DPI and dumped a couple of gadgets. I just reinstalled them from CP and all was well......

Sorry for resurrecting the topic after such a long time, but I thought it would be better than starting a new thread over at "Browsers & Mail"

What the hell is up with the tabs in IE10 and IE11? Every time I close the tab furthest to the right, the length of the one just left of it expands to fill in that space xD
I disabled tab groups because the coloring is just ridiculous (not using it since IE9), would that be the issue?

But, I mean, I'm surprised this hasn't been addressed yet, and I haven't even found people asking about it on the web...

I've seen IE10 do the same thing but after a second, maybe two, the tabs return to their original size. I just don't pay any attention to it. As long as that is the worst thing IE10 does, I'll be a happy camper.

    Hahaha true, true.

Though I must add, for the first time since the early PPs of IE9, this is one "preview" build I will be skipping, as it does have some annoying issues (like making a bing search automatically opens the first search result that's not an ad in a new tab lol) I just can't be dealing with :P

I wonder if the gadget problem is Microsofts way of handling the security issue with gadgets. Hoping users won't notice.
Slipping in that security update with ie11. Microsoft wont fix it, I can tell you that.

In any rate, see here and try the enable option troubleshooter.

Microsoft released the pre-release version of IE-11 last week [not the developer preview] so I gave it another try.
    Gadgets disappeared again.
Looking in task manager I saw sidebar was running [which is gadgets] and went to that folder and launched the exe file.
3 out of 4 gadgets showed up without their graphics.[which is unacceptable]
I right clicked on desktop and launched the gadgets dialog box.
My clock was missing and no mater how many times I tried to drag it to desktop it would just bounce back to dialog box and would not stay on desktop.
When I attempted to see if the browser was any faster than IE-10 the first site I went to was google web-mail and the page would not load.
I tried another web-mail site that opens each email in a small window, the window would open empty and not display anything.
I think this time I will wait for final release to download again.

    Actually I like this feature,
Prior versions you had to move your pointer to close the next tab/ Laptop friendly less mouse movement needed,
There have been a few people who asked about it but there isn't a setting I know of that alters the behavior ?
    Cheers.

I think it's supposed to do it. I don't like it much either but using TOR with Firefox tabs do the same thing.
