Really ... cannot say whether it is a good news or a bad news for the users.

Before the android era, nokia used to be the great one.

I guess it's safe to say they will only be going forward with Windows Phone from this point on.

Real problem is here in the UK when we first heard of this as being the biggest corporate takeover in history, we thought the UK would come in for a very big slice of "Capital gains tax". But have heard today we won't get a penny! "Legal Tax Dodging" they call it!

Other than those tiles windows phones are not bad :)

It will be interesting to see what the fallout is among the other phone makers.

It is not entirely surprising. If things had got worse for Nokia, that would put wp in a very bad light. This ensures WP will continue to get to the marketplace at least.

The shareholders may be pleased, at least they know it isn't going to go under.

Nokia laid off a lot of staff over the last year or so, possibly to make themselves more attractive for this kind of move. Not good news for most of the ex employees.

Rather gives the impression Nokia didn't think they would be able to flourish as a stand alone.

I suppose Microsoft had to insure that they had someone to produce these devices

I see a huge problem with this. Microsoft will become like Apple and start suing everyone to get extra money. (We make round corners!) Nokia has a ton of important patents. I smell lawsuits coming in waves anytime now.
