Google Chrome updated on Tuesday with some new features that will make it easier to search on desktops and easier to use on Android.

The stable channel for Chrome on desktops, version 30, now comes with "search by image." Right-click on any image, and you'll see an option to search using the image as the subject of the query. This works on Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Other changes in desktop Chrome include new Chrome Web apps application programming interfaces (APIs), which will make the Web apps function more like native mobile apps with in-app payments, saving to a media gallery, and downloads.

No big news really, Google already had that function for quite some time, available from any browser.

re; a search engine problem in chrome
I have the default search engine set to Google in Chrome version 55.0.2883.87. Even with Google set to the default search engine. When I click on a link in a web page. Chrome is randomly picking which search engine it want's to use. How do I stop that? Steve

hello i wanted to change my firefox search box text into something like Search and colorize it with white. hiding the dropmaker would also be a good option. firstly i wanted it to look something like the explorer search box. any help will be greatly appreciated. see picture below.
