MS is a joke these days

People abused me when I stated that (IMO) it is just slackness (or sheer bloody mindedness) on the part of MS, that they don't provide a proper OS installer.

Now it seems they can't even make a proper upgrade installer for the locked down RT.

Also, a problem has been discovered with the W8.1 "upgrade".

MS keep creating new reasons for people/businesses to avoid the Windows 8/Windows 8.1 "upgrade".

    IIRC, dos6 > dos6.1 > dos6.2 > dos6.22.
Hmmmm should have stayed on dos 5

    If it's M$ always wait for SP2

This RT8.1 problem is just not on a few sites and forums.
It's on radio stations news for everybody to hear as they should.
I got the news on WTAM 1100 50.000 watts station.
WTAM 1100 covers over 30 states and about half of Canada.

I wonder when Microsoft fixes this problem will it get such coverage.

I'm thinking Microsoft was in a hurry to fix 8.0 that 8.1 wasn't tested properly.

Then you should have a backup, and restore it. Or an image backup.

Don't have a backup? That sucks. That's why its crucial to have a backup before doing this.

Better yet, don't upgrade to 8(.1). Just seeing the steps that Microsoft has taken with 8(.1) makes me question why anyone would get it. I mean, its obvious they don't care about their users anymore.

I wasn't referring to my pc, but to the many people whose pc is now a brick because of this and it will cost many of them some dollars to get it fixed.
How sad it is that you find hilarity in other peoples misfortune.
