Much appreciated everyone, thank you for your replies; am "one-finger typist" so avoid using keyboard as much as possible; the way i type makes using mouse to highlight stuff and then pressing the "Delete" key a bit awkward so am going to have to stay with the "Cut" way of doing it until hopefully a way to get "Delete" into the right-click menu can be found.

Incidentally, am pretty new to Win7 (about three months) and have got it installed on an also recently obtained low-end but new ASRock PC (previously have only had ancient PC's with XP3 Home on them), but have been having some strange and somewhat alarming things happening, which has included icons mysteriously vanishing from the Desktop upon bootup, the keyboard for several days suddenly randomly typing double letters (it's stopped doing it now) and the mouse, when trying to highlight something to copy or cut it, not being able to "hold" the highlight when you right-click to get at the copy/cut options: the highlight would keep vanishing.

This also only started happening a couple days ago, but this time seem to have found hopefully a "cure" by going to "Control Panel > Mouse" and putting a tick in the little box "ClickLock - Turn on ClickLock".

It actually solved the problem and it isn't difficult to get used to slight alteration of the highlighting procedure that is necessary when using ClickLock.

However, have got ominous feeling about why the original highlighting trouble (which was driving me nuts) suddenly started happening in the first place.

On the old PC's weird stuff like that happening on them (together with terrifying noises from the hard-drives including noises that were like Dr.Who Tardis starting up!!!) was "normal" and breakdowns were frequent, with hard-drives also dropping completely dead!!!

Cheers Shahrukh36, what kind of computer motherboard have you got? Do you ever feel like "encouraging" your computer with a sledge-hammer?

Hey Shahrukh36, if you have got the lowest-end ASRock (and most certainly hope you have'nt!!!) you will have about a million-and-ten times wanted to "encourage" it!!!

Seriously though, these computers are far cheaper than such PC's as ASUS and ACER (Geeks everywhere rave about the ASUS PC's and with very good reason) and they used to have a very bad reputation for extremely poor-quality componenty.

According to what Geeks on the Web are saying, ASRock has radically improved in this respect, with component quality almost as good as ASUS, etc.

However, such computers as ASUS are massively more advanced than ASRock, and are far superior in every way; however, the ASRocks being far cheaper to buy than an ASUS are obviously going to get far more people around the world buying them.

But Sharhrukh36, if you have any friends who are being tempted by an ASRock, you should please warn them about some important things about these computers:

Firstly, the so-called "Operating Manual" that you get with them are more like a tiny brochure that is divided up into tiny sections of just about every language on the planet of "instructions"!!!

Also the Motherboard Driver CD that you also get is absolutely abominable; the only thing worth installing off it is the Sound Driver (without it you will not get any sound at all, but even with it the sound is ABYSMAL: even with VLC Player and just about every Sound-Codec Pack that can be found on the Web, can only get decent sound by using a complicated external pre-amp system with a morass of wiring that took literally months to get set up: yesterday the ASRock yet again crashed and have spent all day reinstalling Win 7 OS but cannot get the sound going properly: the PC is inherently unstable) but that CD is VERY dangerous!!!

It was equivalent to the ASUS or GigaByte books that came with previous motherboards I've used.
I didn't have any problems installing the drivers from the CD either.

My HDD controller seems a bit flaky though.
Only 2 of my 6 SATA connections are 100% reliable.

Gooday lehnerus2000, thank you for your Post (but hey!!! Where did you get the Dalek Icon: is Awesome, and now because of you am torn between wanting the "Da Vinci Cat" and a "Dalek" Icon!!!).

Need to "talk" to you lehnerus2000, as you have got an ASRock Motherboard (what kind is it? mine is the lowest-end ASRock MB = N68-VS3 FX, about the ultimate in "bare-bones"!!!); you must have a much better one to actually have got an ASUS-type Manual with it and a good Driver CD; you must have a MB that can be expanded to something like 32 Gigabytes of RAM with capacity for something like eight or more core Athlon Processors.

Long ago a very brainy Dude told me "you get what you pay for", and he was generally correct (but there are always exceptions to every rule, and which makes life a living Hell for scientists and Control-Freaks!!!) but not absolutely so, because i once got for $12.00 a pair of sunglasses that everywhere i went people were instantly envious of them and demanded to know where they were obtained! Everyone thought they were astronomically expensive Uber-Euro-Boutique! The lenses were astonishing, was able to see and read far better with them on than without them.
