I think windows acquisition of Nokia was more of a strategic move more than one aimed at producing excellent phones. Nokia hold hundreds of telecommunication patents, which others (samsung apple ect) have to pay towards to use, these alone should bring in hundreds of millions a year, and then theres the "hey lets sue the crap out of people just because we can" attitude, look at samsung and apple, theyre always at each others throats.. Microsoft could jump on this and kick a few arses!

I also think windows mobile is awesome, i first adopted it with a HTC 7 running windows 7. Now the phone was dire.. it fell apart almost immediately, but the user interface was awesome and just worked.. sadly i sold the phone and moved to android.. if you were able to boot Windows onto a Galaxy S4 id certainly do it!

This one comes from the same crowd that’s been promising "the Year of the Linux Desktop” since dinosaurs roamed the earth. So adjust your expectations accordingly
    I fricking love that line

Yes... the demise of Microsoft has been greatly exaggerated.

In Silicon Valley (and in media satellites that take the NoCal mindset to New York and beyond), everyone has an iPhone, a MacBook Pro, and a Gmail account. Microsoft products and services might as well be from Mars. So be skeptical when you read analyses or predictions of what's coming next from Redmond.

    From badger906 post # 13.
Very good point. Patents will have a huge dollar growth.
