    I can confirm that the Start Menu is not available in the Windows 8.1 Update, but to be released in a future update instead.

    Downloading the whole bunch at the moment (8.1 update & 8.1 with update ISO both N and normal versions) anyway, I think I am going to like it. As I do not use or miss any Start Menu replacements as I mentioned before, I do not miss it but I can understand those who were expecting it now are not going to be satisfied.

    While I remain skeptical and will wait to rejoice (or decry) until I see the finished product, I will say this does look promising.
