    It's strategy - not logic.
Are you talking about Microsoft or Jack?

Jack's was good, Microsoft's was bad, whether it is strategy or logic. Einstein said "We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."
I was referring to the MS direction.

Nokia has built nothing but garbage for a while now,
That is not quite correct. Their phones were fine. It was the Symbian system that got really dated. Which shows again that you have to have a long breath and a lot of resources to keep an operating system alive and up-to-date.

Even as recent as end of 2010 they were still the 800 pound gorilla in mobile.

    Noted,
If your not 1st or 2nd now days nobody gives you a second look,
Seems Android has stolen the show,
Even Apple is looking pretty bad,
    I can't say I've even considered a Nokia for longer than those stat's ?
    Cheers for posting it

Yeah, already end of 2010 it was clear that Android would be the winner. Look at the growth rates versus inventory then.

Well, apple is the only manufacturer that uses their own OS in the chart. It seems Apple is doing well since their market share is only from their products unlike Android, which has multiple manufacturers. Is the blank Windows Phone?

The chart also shows Nokia who had the Symbian OS and RiM who used QNX - an important OS which was partly used in the shuttle. Both those systems were proprietory to these companies.

I'm thinking people will buy both portables and PC's.
I wonder how many people on this forum do that right now.
I'd rather spend the money on new parts for my desktop.
I spend most of my spare time using it (browsing, coding, editing music and video, emailing, typing Word docs, etc.).

OTOH, I guess that people who have mobile phones "glued to their ears" all day long, would have other priorities.
