This is getting old. Need to wait at least two months before applying MS updates just to be safe.

Agreed, especially the critical ones as they'll probably have been rushed out!

On a more serious note, updates have become a lot more unreliable of late, or so it seems, and MS need to get a grip otherwise the balance will shift markedly between risking a problem from not having the update to risking a problem from installing it. It's already becoming a fine line in many cases.
