I have never understood nor do I believe I will ever understand the hype around iPhone. Was just reading news from my native Finland, a phone store there put 150 old, used, serviced iPhone 4 on sale this morning at 9 AM at €99 a piece. Apparently it's considered a good price, the store even giving one year warranty for these second hand iPhones they've got from users switching to later models.

This video is from this morning as people who had been waiting in line hours, some of them days, wanted their used old iPhones:

Here's the news article for those members civilized enough to understand Finnish .

"Here's the news article for those members civilized enough to understand Finnish" .

Understanding Finnish has little to do with being civilized. Being UNCIVILIZED is
aptly depicted in the video. Akin to Black Friday at Wal-Mart, your video
shows much more civilized behavior than videos I've seen in door openings at
Wal-Mart. Those sales will get you every time.

The wink face after that sentence in my post did not make it clear that I was joking?

Anyway, my point was that at €99 (£77, $126, AUD143), an old iPhone seems still to be considered as a good deal, and that kind of hype is something I cannot understand.

The only cool thing I've found is how stable the devices are
It is ultimately just a phone :)
But the willingness to pay for the device after all these years :/
    Ones born everyday :)

Possibly these people just didn't want to buy a cell contract ?
With a contract 1 year they basically give you the 4s model for 1.00 u.s.
Not sure if the 4 model is offered anymore ?

The hype around the iBend iPhone is reminiscent of the early days of home video The v2000 and Betamax formats were far better than the VHS format, but the VHS had good publicists and became the standard. Most of the headline features for the new iPhone have been available in other formats for several years, but the iPhone is more of a fashion statement than technology

Of course it did. But, it was a good lead in to my point that Finns are much more civilized at such events than the Wally-World crowd.
