Pale Moon 25 Major Changes, Add-on Issues

    Last Updated: 13 Oct 2014 at 00:18
Pale Moon no longer supports XP installs (unless you count the Atom version).

People are reporting that PM 25 is breaking add-ons (view the comments for possible fixes).

On my PC, <censored> is totally broken (can't even find the button/icon)!

Also, Google Image search doesn't function properly either.

I'm going to try copying PM v24.7.2 from my backup images.
I might have to re-image my entire W7 install.

Google image search I noticed. I had been using Pale Moon for it as on Opera 12.17, I get that old design. It is Google decising I have an outdated browser. It is deciding the same for Pale Moon now as well.

I can only assume that since PM is based on Firefox, and FF is on version 32, that Pale Moon is now also considered "outdated".

    It's a PM v25 Issue

Since I overwrote PM v25 (with PM v24.7.2) Google Image Search is now working as expected.

I tried dragging my Signature picture into Google Image Search.
It had no idea what it was.
    It's suggestions were amusing.

I guess that Google doesn't understand the new PM GUID?

    Thanks for those links. :)

I have an account at Pale Moon Forum, but I don't go there any more.
The first time I posted, I got into a huge battle with another member and my thread got locked.

I also updated to version 25, then lost some add-ons that I really liked... especially AdBlock and Lightbeam. Decided to do a System restore to get back to version 24.7.2 so I could use those add-ons. Now I just close the update window for version 25, but probably will bite the bullet and install the next version above 25 when the add-on issues are solve (if ever...).

IE, Chrome, and FF pretty much share the features (Opening Tabs, the design, etc.).

It broke my ForecastFox extension. Then I went out in the rain by accident. Went to the archives and reinstalled 24.xx whatever.

    Good to see you Steve

    New version today

    25.0.1 (2014-10-15)
This is a small update to address an important Jetpack extension compatibility issue and includes a number of security fixes.
Update of the add-on SDK to add missing "Pale Moon" engine entries to lists. This should fix extension compatibility issues for jetpack extensions that otherwise already work with the new GUID.
About box release notes link corrected
Fix for VP9 decoder vulnerability security fix
Fix for direct access to raw connection sockets in http security fix
Fix for unsafe conversion to JSON of data through the alarm dom element security fix
Update of NSS to 3.16.2.2-RTM security fix

Still on PM 24.7.2, I'll just get around to updating sometime next year when I am randomly reminded. I ran FF 12 for the longest time until I moved over to PM anyhow.

Ain't nobody got time to be bothering with extension compatibility issues and browser ID wars.
