Microsoft is set to tighten the screw on Linux in the netbook market by making the new Starter edition of Windows 7 much cheaper than Home Premium.

Bleh. Windows 7 Ultimate runs nearly as well as XP, often better, on virtually every netbook I've heard of it being installed on. And netbooks will only be even more powerful than they are now by the time 7 is released. I hope we don't see too many netbooks running starter. I understand the whole companion device issue, but if 7 is running totally fine on systems that are less powerful than those that will be available at the time of its release, I don't see why the crippling. Well, besides price and whatnot of course.
