I was late on the start but watched about half an hour. I left when the Industry and the Boston weather segment came on. MS sure is pushing the Cloud hard. Looks like I may have to take a refresher course on Linux.

By the way, did you move?

    I watch the whole video.
    Thanks for posting it Shawn.

A few points that I noticed.

    1. A lot of sharing of just about everything. Personal and corporate data being shared with the use of a cloud.

    2. What I didn't hear was much about security of such data.

When all that data is synced sounds good but it will also let all those synced hardware and software products to get hacked or infected and the hack or infections get synced through out everything.

    Example:

You sync your health data with your health insurance company or your health provider and they get hacked. Which was done not to long ago.

Security measure are not growing as fast as cloud usage or syncing.
This in my opinion is opening a huge door for the bad guys.

When reading all the security post that A Guy has done in the last day or so should be a warning. Every new thing or idea is not all roses.
Most security is done by fixing things after the horse is been let out of the barn. Security need to attend to shutting the bard door before the horse gets out.

    3. Cloud computing with the stage it is in now is a Walmart for hackers.

I even read one Linux distro is mostly in the clouds. Microsoft also does not seem concerned about bandwidth at all. That might be fine for big business but not for some small business that got to watch their bottom line.

Microsoft and companies better be-careful on sharing medical info because of HIPAA in the U.S.

In the U.S. I can't criticize a doctor online because of HIPAA. I can tell you I switched doctors or change doctors but can't tell you why, I can tell you my health problem if I so choose. I am allowed to share and not share medical info with other doctors. This is a sample only, I am not criticizing any doctor just showing what is allowed and not allowed with HIPAA.
