Not sure why MS can't release an all in one Windows 7 system readiness tool for those wishing to upgrade to Windows 10.
I think they are just afraid that W10 will go the same route as W8 and now they pull all the stops to get people to migrate - and a lot of the common users will do just that not knowing what they are in for. Many will think it is just another update.
Yep if 10 loads that update the install or roll back errors could be significant
A good test model to see just how many people have re-install media or use system images to recover the prior install,
Since M$ has removed digital river iso's M$ can see just how many people they can offer them to pretty coincidental in timing that imho :/
I would not be too optimistic about people's ability to roll back with their own means. Few burn the recovery medium and even fewer make images. That will be a good business opportunity for the OEMs to sell them installation DVDs. I would charge at least $50. Stupidity has to pay.
I checked on a manufacture replacement disk long ago it was 150.us "so called" specifically for my pc lol
It was cheaper to go to Amazon ... for the media 99us
I believe it was Acer
Yeah right, there was a whole range of prices. Gateway once charged $20 for S&H and I think Dell shipped it for free. But I have also seen very high prices.
On dell systems you can get for free re-installation disk but after warranty you will have to pay the cost of shipping. I know I got one under warranty.
