I just wish the Dell's, HP's, Compaq's of the world would give the 32bit crap a rest. It's through their support of 32bit that we continue in the dark ages - stalling development of computers the world over. Just think - if it wasn't for the Middle Ages and the backward-thinking dickheads who considered scientific development the stuff of witchcraft, we'd be over 300 years ahead of where we are today.
With an increase in 64bit users comes more 64bit optimised stuff - developers won't have a choice as their market will beinto the newer technology. Prices will come down, information will be shared faster and the world as a whole will improve.
Not everyone has or wants to spend out lots of cash on new pc's check my system specs, that is running all i use (even some newer games) fine so why bother upgrading it until it won't play a game i want etc???

If no 32bit os, my machine is stuck with xp/vista.. no thanks..

Then carry on being the handbrake to the future, while it's quite cheap to get your hands on a half-decent machine that's capable of running a 64bit OS.

Cost me about 50 in new/old bits to build this one up, i only built it cos my laptop wouldn't play deltaforce extreme/bhd cos of the lack of shader support on the intel gfx...

I have rent and bills to pay that take priority over such things, but seriously this is running very nicely considering the age of some parts, the most expensive bit was the ram lol...

And what about developing/third world countries? i think your view is selfish.

Well maybe if you saved up you'd be able to afford something newer. I myself have a AU$280,000 mortgage, an 18-month old child and a wife to feed, all on AU$60,000 a year, and I still manage to get myself new parts - all because I save up the cash I need to do the things I want. No credit cards here, mate.....
As for the third world, life is what you make it, and if they're too lazy to get up off their backsides and help themselves improve their own quality of life, then let them to it.....

In all honesty i could go to the store and spend around 500 now, but why should i bother until this machine won't play something i want, and its only gonna be a game eh, this machine runs any app i throw at it and most games too??

I also had fun buying old bits from ebay and friends to build this pc up.

Now if we can have an option to show or not to show icons instead of the option to show desktop items that would be nice.
As it is currently if you uncheck show desktop items your gadgets dissapper also along with your icons.
Should be an option for icons only
