I have decided when the idiot in charge decided that Media Center would not be updated that I don't care if it is free Windows 10 is not for me. I prefer my locally based storage, my aero multi coloured windows Windows 7 on my many PC's. Windows 10 does not deserve to be on any of my machines as it is simply not anywhere as good as Windows 7. I don't need Cortana, Windows Cloud or any of the other tack they are trying to kid clients with. Some people are going to be impressed but I am not. I won't be putting it on my machines after 8.1 expires I'll see what is around but I have a feeling Windows 7 will be supported well passed 2020 as Microsoft has failed already with Windows 10. They have lied about the versions (they said there will be 1 version) and now there are more sku 's than ever. Windows 10 is another farcefrom Microsoft as they are still not listening to the feedback and are countinuing on the same path as with Windows 8 which was a total failure.

I agree with you @Indianatone even though I am on still on the fence about upgrading or buying windows 10, the last preview didn't work to well on my system. Haven't tried the current one.

I am still worried about windows 10 becoming a subscription base, as I said in another post no one wants another monthly bill to pay, since they are already paying for internet service. Anyway, lets say Microsoft required a subscription for the Operating System. In the U.S. the Windows 10 Oem device boxes would have to come with a warning that a monthly subscription to Microsoft would be required and a subscription to high speed internet service is strongly suggested. Also, this would have to be agreed to at checkout as well. In the U.S. we also have bait & switch laws. Microsoft need to issue another version of windows if they don't do subscription when windows 10 is rtm.

Windows 10 Education 64 bit

I'm getting more and more disillusioned with Windows 10 as more and more info comes out. I'm going to wait and see what's what when it finally officially gets released. I'll run it on one of my PC's and have a good look see. I've run a few of the previews but haven't really been all that impressed to be honest. Time will tell, as they say.

New computer build is still a month or 2 from completion.

win 7 64 home premium

i have been thinking about doing the win10 free upgrade. then this week i read a blog on win10 that talked about the windows updates on win10 not being able to be stopped. we would not have a choice anymore. i have run into too many updates that screwed me up and for a long time have waited for a few weeks and then read about any problems before i updated. this has served me well. has anyone else heard anything about this?

On windows 10 you might be able to delay update if you tell windows you are using a metered connection for home version and possible the pro version (there is debate where home users that use pro will be able to delay updates or if it just restricted to business users). For the preview I was told by one poster that it didn't install updates or upgrade. I read (Sorry, no link) that metered connection if enabled will download some updates but not all. I guess time will tell how windows 10 release handles metered connections. I am also sure someone will release registry fix that will allow home user to delay updates.

My issues with windows 10 releases.
I turned off my computer at night, so I couldn't get updates or new builds.
I am also concerned about the size of new builds because of bandwidth limits.
I dual boot with Linux. New builds will not install unless grub is disabled. Updates are no issue-so far. I think I have decided to keep windows 7 and not upgrade to windows 10. I am still undecided about buying windows 10, if I can I might buy windows 8.1

I don't dislike or like windows 10.
