I'm going to have to send some serious time over the coming weeks trying to find some decent TV tuner softer to replace media center, everything I've tried so far has been pretty poor in comparison.

If you do find something, please be sure to let us know about it. For me, losing WMC was the final nail in Win 10's coffin.

You are in a worse situation than us in the US as the HD British TV system is specfic to Britain and it is a smaller market. I think I am just going to leave my systems plodding along on 7 until something comes along. There is no need to rush, we have a year to test another system. I am in a quandry as I have my 7 & 8.1 systems set up as I like them and I am not too impressed with 10 so far. Maybe during the next year they will roll out some update packs that make it more appealing. Hell I would pay to have my look of Windows 7 Aero transferred to 10 with an AERO PACK with a key and for use on up to 5 computers for say $20 . Come on Microsoft give the punters what we want.

Plenty of third party alternatives and themes to fill the gap if you don't mind paying for them
    I'm personally not.

It was getting that way with all the awful colors and icons and then they said no more media center and I said OK I have 5 more years in Seven and until 2023 on 2 licences of Windows 8.1 Pro with media center so I am fairly good............hopefully some sense may come back to Microsoft by them. They don't seem to realise the mobile device world sailed a few years ago and they were not on it. They have 0 market share, this is a company that bought a mobile phone maker (Nokia) and fired everyone who worked for them.................DUH.

That reminds me of AOL in the early days when it would buy BBSes and abandon them.

What would happen if say you upgraded from 7 to 10 and a few months down the road your hard drive fails and you have to reinstall, would you install 7 first with your original key or 10, but where would you get the key for 10?

You`d get a key for 10 if you buy it.

To me it's very risky using a Windows 7 key to upgrade to Windows 10.

If their is a problem you could loose a perfectly good Windows 7 key.
It could get caught in WA WA land some where between 7 and 10.
