Let's not forget Microsoft Works, I've heard it is not working in 10.
Yet another dealbreaker for me if true. I've been using Works 6.0 since 2001 (Win95, XP, 7) for full-page graphs and charts for medical purposes. After all these years I still can't get LibreOffice to do the same.

Now, if Win 10 has a Win 7 mode (like Win 7 has an XP mode) THEN I might consider 10.

    Someday.

I can see the possibility of several years more support for Windows 7 because it is too successful for even a smashing successor to replace that quickly. There will be holdouts just as there were for XP who are not Luddites in this case but perhaps only recently settled into 7 from XP or refugees burned by 8. They have found an OS that runs like a champ.
Greg my friend, staying with windows 7 and spreading false, baseless imaginary panic against windows 10 are not the same thing. If anybody wants to stay with windows 7, very nice. There is no doubt that it is a great OS.

But there are some people who are posting against windows 10, and the information that is obtained from their posts are shamefully ridiculous. It is them who are said to be the "Luddites" here; not the windows 7 users in general. If anybody go through this thread and some similar ones, they will be able to find out who are the "Luddites" here.

Not sure if this was posted already but though it was interesting :/
Seems free retail versions for testers that will not take over a prior version of windows ?
    Attachment 362445
Apparently, but there might be other terms and conditions.

Yea I thought it was interesting because people are using 10tp in many ways,
Some have already upgraded a copy of a qualifying previous version,

Some like I have clean installed every iso on it's own drive without ever connecting another os while using 10tp,
So unless M$ can tell by info on the mobo what previous versions of windows have been installed on the machine that would say it's a solo copy and possibly would not upgrade a previous install of 7 or 8.1 :/

In reference to other terms I would imagine lifetime of the device would still apply
I suppose retail would not be accurate as much as saying system builders/ oem of win-10tp.

For fun, tested an old Works cd, installed fine in w10 using xp compatibility. Found some old .wdb .wps etc and (seemingly) no problems. In it's time it was a great & useful suite.

About 10, got a bunch of unused 7 & 8 licenses, will probably upgrade a few of them some months time after 10 release, after all the potential trouble has been ironed out. For my main pc, w7 will stay, it's working so well and is solid as rock, won't take any chances at disrupting that.

    You dont know.

Not only Microsoft Works, but all office program will stop working on windows 10 as and when Office 2016 will be released; and you will not be able to use any sort of office program until and unless you pay the full price of Office 2016 to M$.

Well, you may argue that Gabriel Aul already explained that even 0ffice 95 will work with windows 10. Fine! But who is Gabriel Aul other than a tweeter? When the left hand of M$ does not know the right hand, how can you trust him?

Get a tinfoil hat, you also come to know the truth.

And how, if I may ask, Microsoft will be stopping this software to run in Windows 10? C'mon dude, if that could be the case, they could had enforced this policy since at least the release of Office 97...
That has no basis to believe, it's silly and no proof that is even possible.

    So.

Arc, why don`t you just let people say what they want to say ?

Stop highlighting other people`s replies and being rude to them.

Thanks for asking. :) If you read the entire thread, you might come to know what I said and why. Please take the time to read the entire thread?

If you ask, dont ask it me, but ask it to the other posters of this thread from whom I come to know that M$ should not be trusted. My posts are tribute to them only.

I will not let people to "what they want to say" if what they want to say is just baseless and like those you posted. My crap posts are dedicated to you and posters like you only, baseless, logicless, and everything. I will say the truth, if false thing is posted.

And I am not being rude to anybody. Some people dont have the ability to accept the truth, they may imagine a rudeness there, like their other imaginary things.

You cannot direct me where I will go and for what.
