    W7 Market Share Surges

    Posted: 06 Jul 2015
After dropping slightly last month, W7's market share has surged past 60%.

XP's market share has dropped below W8.1's share.

I've bought 2 7 pro copies in the last month :)
    Haven't activated either yet though
Activated a 7 home premium I bought some time last year just a couple weeks ago for my new build.

Yep, some of the members on Eight and Ten forums and Microsoft themselves should take notice clients want the Windows 7 Desktop Experience and not the mobile vision they (Microsoft) have. I am fairly certain there will be a bunch of users coming to this very website in August wanting their Windows 7 back. Microsoft have made that extremely difficult by hiding all the downloads of Windows 7. Of course most users won't make a backup.
Wonder what the M$ plan is if the upgrade hoses the system? A malware ridden virus laden OS won't make a good upgrading candidate.

Yea not sure but a lot of people liked messengers.... which 10 pretty much accomplishes that so as long as they use a M$ account 10 would be a step in that direction.

10162 is functioning okay for me a lot better than prior iso builds so M$ might have a iso update to push out now to the masses
Still not my cup of tea but better than anything else I've seen so far.
Besides the first 2 build which I still preferred but are long gone

So I'll stick with the insiders program as if nothing has happened except I made another M$ account to use it with and poke around every once in a while to see if any changes are made in the future that appeal to me

Poor people, That's why I store my Windows 7 backup ISO's in my external HDD :)
I must include in that list:
    - Windows 98 SE
    - Windows ME
    - Windows XP Pro SP3
    - Windows Vista SP2 (both x32 and x64)
    - Windows 8.1 with Update (x32 - x64)

Who knows if I would ever need any of those besides W7 :)

I have MSDN, the only ones I keep on hand are Windows 7 and 8.1 ISO's. I haven't worked on a Vista PC in a long while. I don't want anything to do with anything 9X vintage.

I still have my vista disk, unfortunately its a recovery disk that came with my HP Desktop. I cancelled my reservation of Windows 10 because I lost my interest with it already.

I don't believe I've lost interest in 10 I just believe there's a lot of time left for it to mature.
I'm still interested in a real copy not an upgrade.
Prices will definitely need to be lowered though,
199.us for pro is way too high although I've seen 149.us I believe at Newegg for preorders still a bit too high :/
8.1 pro is also way too high.
Weren't too many deals this 4th of July only old used stuff

    Folks their is no hurry.
You will be able to buy Windows 10 for many years. It's not going anywhere but hopefully it will just get better.
