Yep I prefer cd's also I also prefer a activation key attached to it
Alias the dreaded upgrade is still the cheapest route
Upgrade 7 home premium to 10 then upgrade 10 Home to 10 Pro = 99.us + tax

Or buy 10 Pro for 129.us = I imagine the time saved via the upgrading process and straight forward install is priceless

In your case, seeing you have Home Ed it could be worth to go straight to the Pro version and have an easy access to some settings in Group Policy.

Could install 10 on different drive and have a switch to turn on or off the Disk you want to boot to. I found this easier than dual booting, though!

Yep I already have a dual ssd hot swap evo :)
Safest way to dual boot especially with an alpha os like win-10
I have to have group policy in 10
It might also come in handy in 7 too seeing it allows more ram to be installed plus kids are starting to get weird about using the new rig along with girl friend
I read home premium only sees 16gb ? not sure if that true or not ?

Here you have it: Memory Limits for Windows and Windows Server Releases

Thought about those too for myself: Hard Drive Power Switch/Selector

Most of my main hardware components are out of warranty, if one breaks happen as Windows 10 (free edition) is tied to the hardwares...

I wouldn't say terrible :/
Controversial maybe

Still good but yes a lot of tweaking by third parties and group policy to get it bearable for sure pretty much why I'm in no hurry but still working it out
Almost got the final install details worked out waiting for the last item = another 500gb ssd

I haven't bought higher capacity drive usb but I have seen flash drivers bigger than 16gb for sale. You may be able to use a higher capacity drive for install but the windows 7 home premium may only see the first 16 gb. After installation Windows 7 should see the full capacity. I used 8 GB usb drive for installation of windows 7 no issue. Now if your talking about installing windows 10, I also used a 8 gb flash drive to install windows 10 without any issues.
