    Ok Folks,
While we are waiting on the next build to test...here is a good conversation starter:
Who has been able to get W7 running on the oldest hardware with not much of a noticeable performance loss? If so what is your configuration?
I was able to get W7 to run on a P3 900 MHz CPU, 368 RAM 15 GB HDD.
Granted I had a 2 1/2 min boot up time and a 1 1/2 min shut down time but heh....having W7 running on an old laptop was pretty cool. try that with vista....he he ...not....
Also running W7 on a GHz
    Edit
running W7 on 1.2 GHz 640 MB ram and 30 GB HDD and it is pretty fast
Let us all know if you can beat that wil an sloer configuration and still have a productive PC

    Yes
You would be amazed on the minimal amount of hardware W7 can run on.
Try it and tell me your success stories. Granted this is for only surfing the web and checking emails but heh!!! no problem here using a secondary dusted off laptop that was taking up space in the closet....makes your old desktop/laptop seem new running a new O/S on it with minimal performance loss!!
Let us know of your success story
    Don't be afraid to try

I got it running very nicely on a 1.6ghz intel laptop with 40gb hdd and 1gb ram in dual mode, well it meets the requirements but i am still quite impressed as vista is a little laggy on the same machine.

Vista works on the 1.6ghz laptop, just seems pointless to install when xp runs so much better. 7 is fine though.
