Heck, I'd pay 50.00 or more for a Linux OS that is as user-friendly as Windows.
You can donate anything you like,
But Zorin ultimate is 15.us +-

Looks like kb2952664 is back I show 2 of them now
Already bought Zorin ultimate for 10.00, however I must have messed up the DVD so I just went back to Zorin core, considered the 10.00 a donation to a great OS that respects my privacy and is very user-friendly. The "Blue" theme is very easy on the eyes.

I've never known a company push so hard with a product that it's giving away...

Yeah, that's kind of weird. Is it because they know it's really just a souped-up Eight that will be yet another disaster, in which case they will extend the free offer another year; or is Microsoft turning into big Brother? Ve vant to controllll you!

Or is it so they can get you hooked on W10 for free and then nickel and dime you for every hotfix, update and improvement thereafter?

The new normal, apparently. Thank God For Linux.

There's nothing that's free, there's always a price to pay one way or another. I have no idea what the MS business model is these days.

MS does seem to be reintroducing Windows Updates that push the Windows 10 installation, which I don't intend to install.

I have not been taking all that much notice of what updates have been installed lately, as I had got rid of the GWX Task Bar icon that was hassling everyone a while ago.

This morning I decided to check my Reliability Monitor & sure enough there was an error showing that Windows 10 had failed. The message shown was as follows.

    Description
Faulting application name: GWXUX.exe, version: 6.3.9600.18064, time stamp: 0x56042d8f
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7601.18939, time stamp: 0x55b02e88
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x000000000004ac04
    Faulting process id: 0xd5c
    Faulting application start time: 0x01d100b4eb378523
    Faulting application path: C:\Windows\System32\GWX\GWXUX.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll
    Report Id: 2a7d7cb2-6ca8-11e5-982f-00a0d5ffffae

I have since run the Disable Windows 10 upgrade, that was posted on this forum & can be found here:

Get Windows 10 Icon - Remove from Taskbar in Windows 7 and 8.1 - Windows 10 Forums

Other user might want to check their Reliability Monitor for a similar situation. To do that click on the little flag on the Task Bar near the clock, then click on Open Action Centre, then click on Maintenance, then View reliability History.

Linux is free, unless you count the work you must put in to learn it. but that has hidden benefits. You learn something new. good for your brain. And you become empowered, in control of your computer.

Here's how disgusted I've become: I'm seriously considering going back to Vista. It still has a year and a half of life in it. By then I'll be a Linux Ninja. And MS is not likely to put "Get Windows 10" on Vista. there aren't enough people using it. XP now, I wouldn't be surprised. I don't get it. They already have a virtual monopoly on operating systems. Isn't it enough?
