I checked my installed updates & nearly all of them have been installed already through Windows Updates & that was on 9th Dec or in a few cases at an earlier time.

Interesting I have WSUS running with my WHS2011 installation; have never heard of this! I checked Brink's post against my own recently approved Security-only updates and it syncs.

Since this monthly release only appears to include Security updates, it would seem an easy (or easier) way for folks concerned about W10 updating to cross-check "which updates must be installed while the others can be ignored unless they solve a specific (other) problem for you".

True - but folks need to realize that this 3.2GB image for Dec 2015 - JUST contains the updates for Dec 2015. It's not an image with 200+ security fixes since SP1 was released to bring a newly installed Windows 7 PC up to spec.

The image does not contain anything but the 9 or 10 key security fixes for the month. The size of the iso is due to all the different languages these updates are issued in.

Also the point is the ISO contains all the current OS, Vista, 7,8.1 and 10 plus server versions and 32/ 64 bit versions. So if you are looking after many PC's or you don't want your PC open to the internet while you download 250 updates to 7 download all the ISO files back to 2006. You could clean install XP for a Virtual Machine example and make sure it was up to date before locking it down and basically the same with Vista and 7 although they are still supported.

My comment (quoted) had nothing to do with the download or its size. I merely suggested that the update list would tell people which Security-Only updates to apply for their PCs.

This is still sounding like you guys guys think this ISO has 250 updates on it or it will somehow update a clean install of XP from SP2 to current by using this disc. That is not correct.

This disc contains the updates for the month of Dec 2015 ONLY.
