Anything that slipped by was included in some other update.
Didn't work for me either.
I discovered a hidden BT folder on my OS partition (a few weeks ago) on my PC.
I have the Windows Update service totally disabled now.
Once people have posted the info about the latest MS malware updates, I re-enable the Windows Update service and download any real updates that have been released.
Despite the claims of the W10 fan boys and shills (on TenForums, for example) it is fairly obvious that MS is collecting more data than they claim and it is selling it to the highest bidder.
That's why they are trying to force everyone to use W10 and why they released a telemetry update for an OS they claim:
- They don't support anymore
- Is so poorly written that it is too dangerous to use anymore

Emma, you are pretty outspoken and that's OK. Unfortunately we cannot change things and have to live with what they offer - or abandon ship.

That will be a sad day indeed :/
That already happened, all my systems (2) have WU completely disabled, through options and the service itself. SevenForums is my place to check for critical patches. I don't need WU at all... MS has a black history with bricked systems, BSODs and Black SoDs, I don't trust them anymore since those days, less now with this malware like tactics. (This includes a few W10 systems I've tweaked for some friends, WU service disabled completely because of annoyances and forced updates)
Full control of your system is a priority, if you wanna achieve that, you take control over services and disable crap you dont need, and WU is one of those...
So, no GWX for me, and I live more happy without the OS telling me when to install stuff, I decide what to do, not the PC, not M$.
Ah... if someone wants to try something as good as Windows 7, try Linux Mint KDE, it's fast (for systems that already run Windows 7 for example) uses less RAM, has a good catalog in software, easy to configure and pleasant to the eye (no fisher price opaque plain UI). That is my next move if W7 "expires" on 2020 and M$ is still playing this nasty game...

I am the power of one. I will not be assimilated nor will I be upgraded. I will not bow down before the self appointed almighty powerful MS no matter the forces they shall bring against my stalwart defenses. I will not compromise. I will resist even if I am the last user standing. I will not be defeated.
Wow! That gave me a headache... . I think I need a nap now.

There must be something behind this big push. What's at the end of the tunnel when the one year mark is met?I can't imagine the the purchase of apps is what's going to bring home the bacon, but I could be wrong. Or perhaps security fixes become free, but roll-ups and other updates come with a fee? Not expecting that, but wouldn't be surprised. Data mining and selling to advertising? (remember they only collect to better improve windows) That's my guess as its big money. The more devices that provide data, the more money to be had selling it. Again, this could be wrong, but I don't see giving free OS's away without some catch. I havent' seen the numbers for the app store, but again, I can't imagine they are banking on it being the the biggest money maker. Corporate support and businesses that pay for IT services are another revenue source, but then again, it always has been, so it's not like they're gaining new customers there.
They more they push, they more I wonder
