Have had 3 issues. No Windows Startup sound, 3 or 4 Crashes when coming out of Sleep and Company Logo Shortcut Icons on Desktop are changed to Windows own Global design.

I've had Windows 7 x64 Ultimate since 23, October, and without a doubt, it is THE most stable MS OS I have ever used. Yeah, there have been a few little things that took some work, but NO crashes, driver issues or any other major problems. For that matter, I had very little trouble with Vista x64 Ultimate, too. People just need to understand that they can't run these OSs on a weak old machine.

Its usually the manufacturer's fault if drivers don't work for laptops - not 7's.

That was one of the largest drawbacks seen with Vista was a lack of 3rd party support. MS wanted that support present for 7 however! Most companies have made some adjustments to see that happen.

In the early days of Vista there was a statistic saying that 45% of the "Vista" problems came from OEM drivers.

You would surprized to see how often that was a typical problem seen for XP as well! In fact XP actually saw more of it since Vista support lagged a bit at first.

I do admit that Windows 7 is a very stable OS but.....
Some drivers are still not available for a large part of current hardware that it not being sold in stores anymore. Windows 7 is not compatible with alot of software that was running fine with Windows Xp that was the reason why we never upgrade to Vista because of that fact and now Windows 7 has the same issue you need to install Microsoft Virtual PC which is also garbage Sun Virtual Box is 10 times better that Virtual PC. That version of Windows XP on the virtual PC is a special version that I cannot run certain software on that either.
XP Mode Is a waste of time.

Windows 7 needs to be revised to fix the compatibility mode it doesn't work correctly
It only looks better but basically thats it

But you have to understand that the fact that old XP programs do not run on Windows7 is not the problem of Win7 - it is the problem of the owners of those programs. If you want to run XP programs forever, you have to run XP forever. I fully understand MS cutting out some of this old stuff because legacy is the biggest road block for progress. But this time they gave you at least XP mode - whatever that does. I never tried it because I come from Vista. And all my Vista programs run perfectly.
