We seem to be having an issue, got our old laptop and I went into manually kick off a check for updates. It's been 'checking for updates' for over an hour now. So slow. Wonder if others see this slowness. Tested internet explorer and browsing is ultra fast so it's not a connectivity issue

Showed up on my aser though the M$ update system is weird to say the least

Pretty much normal for Win 7 nowadays. I checked yesterday and early this morning and the check was quick (nothing offered). After release of the updates today it took about 45 minutes - 1 hour when checking.

I was only aware of the Updates because my Firewall (ESET) Informed me. Other then that I was expecting to see first light of any Update from tomorrow. So I manually checked..And yes I am experiencing a slowness, as well. Normally when I checked it's no more then 30 seconds if that. Right now, it's roughly around 10 minutes

Noticed that KB..2664 tried to sneak in there again with this update, I had to hide it once more. My computer took the longest time, maybe 1/2 hr before it started to down load. 18 updates and upon restart, 1 more. GWX is quiet :)

I thought it was just me that was experiencing the slowness, with the check up on the actual updates. Saying that I think I will l leave it for 2/3 more days.

That update has been revised/reissued 17 times now. I've given up trying to hide it as it'll keep being reissued until the free 10 offer expires, possibly even after that. Just leave it in the optional list and then you won't have to hide it every time it comes back. Same goes for GWX, that also keeps getting revised. I don't bother hiding either anymore.
