    I think the people that are claiming W10 is being installed on their machines are confusing MS simply downloading, not installing, W10 during Windows updates. A while back, that was the case until people uninstalled KB3035583 and other updates that worked in conjunction with the GWX application. It happened on a couple of my machines last year but since uninstalling all the W10 updates the large W10 $Windows.~BT file (6 GB) that sat on the C drive hasn't come back.

    Mmmmh, I always disable updates in my Services function. Funny thing - all my systems using Win7 (5 of them) continue to run flawlessly despite heavy traffic at times into some shady areas of the internet. Do I need to apologize to MS?

    Avoid Update for Windows 7 - KB3138612 if you've been skipping the Windows Update Clients.
    I install those though as Update scans are much quicker on my system with those installed. The rest are security updates which I always install.
