Woman sues Microsoft over her forced Windows 10 upgrade and wins

    Posted: 27 Jun 2016
Teri Goldstein of Sausalito, California says that she had never heard of Windows 10 until her PC attempted to install it. The automatic upgrade failed, and now her PC is slow, crashes at times, and could be useless for days.
She did what any normal person would do - she reached out to Microsoft support, which didn't help. Then, Goldstein decided to sue Microsoft for lost wages and the cost of a new PC.
She won a $10,000 judgment against the company. Microsoft had filed an appeal, but dropped it last month.

I laught at the comments... now she's a moron because she legitimately sued a company that caused loss and damage to her bussiness, instead of being a total geek and worked her windows reinstall.

Why is there some "tech savy" dudes that think that everyone else is forced to know how to reset or reinstall a system?

Meaning no disrespect, but, "she had never heard of Windows 10".... are you kidding me?

You'd have to be a Hindu Monk, in a hidden monastery, to not have heard of Windows 10.

Then there are those pop-ups advertising Windows 10 that are everywhere!!! They're as common as house fly's, or roaches.

Why am I reminded of the woman who spilled hot coffee on herself and then sued the vendor because she got burned. ???

MS should have counter-sued her for being stupid. But I'm not sure you can sue for stupidity. Eh?

Claiming she's "stupid" seems incompatible with your claim of "meaning no disrespect".

Anyway, why should anyone have heard of Win 10?

Have you heard about aspartate carbamyltransferase? No? Does that make you stupid!?

    Hi,
Yea it would be odd to not hear or notice gwx popups.
But I don't believe the center of the universe is win-10 either.

Either way the opt out was a mistake and anyone that condones that is hopeless.

You just hit the head on the nail! Too many geeks (geek is not an insult, btw) forget that most people are not as knowledgeable as they are and will assume that everyone will know what they consider to be basic knowledge when the opposite is what is true.

Another mistaken assumption is that all software that worked in Win 7 or 8.x will work in Win 10, including business specific software.

I see her as quite the opposite of stupid. She just won $10,000 from MS. Pretty clever if you ask me!

That is true. I had to quit using 10 permanently do to an Intel driver causing a blinking issue. I believe the issue was caused by an windows 10 system update, that windows 7 didn't get. The reason I say that, is because the original update & the November update worked for awhile. I even tried the newest Intel graphics driver same issue. It is kind of strange that MSE & spybot s&d 1.6.2.0 work fine together in windows 7 sp1 but in windows 10 it will work but keeps getting uninstalled supposedly to keep it from interfering with windows defender.
