The addition of the ribbon to the Outlook main interface is taking a little while to get used to
Not saying it's a bad thing just that It's the biggest change I notice

The additional graphics functions as mentioned above are nice - and they are in word too

The animation on start-up is nice, but the best bit about this is the little amount of time you actually see the animation - loading is very impressive

Oh and I like the backstage concept - all the production and options in one place

i have a few questions guys

So how is 2010 running so far? any major issues that will effect the use experience? Also any little things that have poped up?

What happens to all the office updates if i uninstall 2007? do they go when i uninstall from control panel or do they intergrate with 2010?

I have office 2007 enterprise and downloaded home and student, small buisness, on 32bit, do i upgrade or get rid of it and install 2010?

thanks.

2010 will allow you the option of either upgrading or running them side by side...

Just one reminder that you cannot run the new 64 bit office 2010 with any previous Office 32 bit applications still installed. Not relevant to the OP but worth considering

Also when I ran the technical preview 32 Bit in parallel with Office 2007. Office 2010 insisted on taking over all the file associations - not a good idea for a production environment

I'm running them side by side (32bit 07 & 32 10) and find that every time I switch between the two I get the configuration screen poping up for a moment or two to reconfigure. Very annoying.

I still get that everytime I start Visio 2010 - and all the 2007 applications have been removed

I believe that this re-configuring issue is known to Microsoft and there basic answer is it's by design and you should not run both versions at once

It's a really annoying that you can't have the 2010 beta installed when you already have some office 07 programs in your PC.

As long as you use the 32 bit for both it is possible to have both on the same machine. I ran both in parallel during the initial technical preview, and after some work to restore the associations to the 2007 production applications - It worked Fine

With the release of the Beta I chose to run 64 bit 2010 which meant I had to remove the 2007 files. One advantage to this is that I will actually use the Beta a lot more and therefore evaluate it more completely.

Just downloaded the beta last night; haven't had much time to delve deep into playing with them, but it doesn't seem like too much of a change. I'm more interested in seeing what Outlook 2010 has to offer more than anything.

Just to let you guys know - if it hasn't been said already - that iTunes works with the 32-bit version of Office 2010. So, syncing with iPhone is fine now since I removed the 64-bit version.
