New KB3184143 Update to Remove Windows 10 Upgrade Offer
-
Whoops, a power failure, I manually shut down the machine to save the UPS battery, and eventually turned off the UPS when I got a text from the power company that said the outage would be fixed in two hours. The lights came back on in about a half hour, with a text from the power company that power is back to stay. But, the main machine does not respond to the power switch. There is no "alive" LED on the motherboard. The power supply does not respond to being turned off, unplugged, then plugged back in, then turned back on - and there is 120 VAC on the power supply cord.
A new power supply will be in on Saturday. Meantime, I have an *.iso file for the laptop and can make a boot disk image for backup. My main activities are on hold until sometime Saturday, when I can get at my files again.
As Rosanne Rosanadana said at the end of her newscasts, "It's always sump'n."

Here is what I got on my main machine (NOT the laptop; note I have the DVD for the main machine), updated by Skynet to Windows 10. I'll copy MGADiag.exe to the laptop and reply in the next message. Note that it reports my OS as Unsupported.
