    Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (I'm trying out W 10 Pro)

Whoops, a power failure, I manually shut down the machine to save the UPS battery, and eventually turned off the UPS when I got a text from the power company that said the outage would be fixed in two hours. The lights came back on in about a half hour, with a text from the power company that power is back to stay. But, the main machine does not respond to the power switch. There is no "alive" LED on the motherboard. The power supply does not respond to being turned off, unplugged, then plugged back in, then turned back on - and there is 120 VAC on the power supply cord.

A new power supply will be in on Saturday. Meantime, I have an *.iso file for the laptop and can make a boot disk image for backup. My main activities are on hold until sometime Saturday, when I can get at my files again.

As Rosanne Rosanadana said at the end of her newscasts, "It's always sump'n."
