    Thanks, @Brink!

    Most helpful and will save time looking for the security-only KB.

    Much obliged,

    I am really disappointed in the direction Microsoft is going with how updates are released for 7 and 10.
    Re: KB3207752 (Monthly Rollup). First sentence says: "This security update includes..."
    Re: KB3205394 (Security-only update). First sentence says: This update includes only security fixes."
    Can Microsoft make it any more convoluted for novice computer users by calling one a security update and the other a security fix? What are they smoking?
    End of rant.

    After installing the following updates KB3207752, KB3205402 and KB890830, MSE right click option to scan a file was gone again. I deleted KB3207752(I randomly picked that one first, had planned to delete all three), restarted computer and MSE right click option was back.

    I don't know if that was really the cause or not, hopefully somebody can look into it.

    Btw...

    KB3207752 = December 2016 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7

    KB3205402 = December, 2016 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5.1, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64

    KB890830 = Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - December 2016

    Hi Benjamin76, welcome to 7F! :)

    My MSE right click option is still there after installing the three updates, we will have to wait a few days to see if anyone else has the problem and reports it.

    I was having problems accessing the: Microsoft Update Catalog with Firefox, but it's okay for, now.

    Why is it hard to understand?
    Monthly Rollup = Includes all security and non-security updates
    Security-only Update = Includes security updates only

    Easy, no?
    The monthly rollup states "This security update includes..." because it includes security updates, in addition to other updates.

    I noticed that it sometimes doesn't work. There are actually two links. See:

    Just to point out that they've actually made a new site for other browsers. It's this one:

    Microsoft Update Catalog

    Script:
    http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.aspx
    The old one that still needs IE is:

    Microsoft Update Catalog

    Script:
    http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/
