interesting Brink, may be they are releasing updates batch-wise. I just checked for updates on my skype & it said I have up-to-date version. Performance has gone down hill with every release, some times it hangs up the entire system while loading or if resumed from a sleep mode.

Those are good news really. I though people is condemned to use Skype 8, which I regard as an abomination (to use gentle words). Seeing a newer version of Skype 7 means a larger time frame before Microsoft force everyone to downgrade to the latest version.
Not that Skype 7 is good either, but it's better than 8.
It's still not designed for computers, it's for tablets really, with a design obviously copied from WhatsApp. Totally unsuitable for desktop/notebook use doing serious work.

I really miss Skype before Microsoft completely destroyed it.

Please note that this installer is supported on Windows 7 and higher only. There is currently no support for Windows XP and Vista.
I wonder what really means. I think it's one of these:
    - Microsoft didn't bothered testing it in XP/Vista and they have no idea if it works, but one can reasonably expect them to simply work as normal.
    - Microsoft used some Win7 feature that makes Skype to cease to function on XP/Vista.
    - Microsoft put an arbitrary, artificial restriction so that it refuses to run in XP/Vista when in fact its perfectly capable of doing so.
