    Good evening Brink,

    Just a couple of questions!

[1] On a clean install [other than creating an updated pre-installation ISO using DISM++ or SIMPLIX], after the installation has completed, does it now mean that you download the Servicing Stack Update KB3177467 FIRST, and then run WU for the first time?

[2] Would the above still work if somebody wanted to download KB3125574 [Convenience Rollup Package - May 2016]. There are still people using this method in order to cut down initially on the overall processing time that is required to download, install and re-start WU. Doing it this way, there is no where near the 200+ updates that are at present needed after a clean install. Basically, does this update replace the previous update KB3020369 [Servicing Stack Update - April 2015] and will it still work?

As you have probably seen from my posts, if somebody is thinking of doing a clean install, I am recommending that they create an updated pre-installation ISO [USB] either using DISM++ or SIW2's utility that uses SIMPLIX.

    I am just curious!

    Thanks.

    Hey Paul,

KB3125574 only replaces KB3020369, and is required to be installed before KB4462923.

That's an old update. I installed that update when I built out my install. Do I need to install it again?

What if this stack thing did not showup in one's WU window/dialogue?
Are we "good to go" ?

I'll be back tomorrow evening to see whatever answers crop up.

You could check to see if KB3177467 is already installed. Click Start > Control Panel > Windows Update > View Update History.

You could also download the .msu and install it, it will tell you if it is already installed or if it doesn't apply to your system.

    I hope this helps!

I already had the update installed, but it still showed up in Windows Update and installed again. It's a newer version (v2).

It didn't show up for me until I hid the monthly rollup (which I never install), so maybe the updated files are already included in the latest rollup.

Yes, it appears to be included within this months rollup update!
Thanks for sharing this with us, I am sure people will find it useful.

Naw, going to skip the rollup and go straight to the security only update to get around this.
