You're going to wipe off Ultimate and reinstall Pro just because of that notification? Why? Just don't install the update. It hasn't been forced on anyone. And even if it was, it can be easily dismissed.
XP got a notification like this too. I think people are expecting this to be another GWX. It isn't, it's a single 250kb file called sipnotify.exe. A notification which isn't going to force an upgrade on you. Ignore the OTT scaremongering articles being written. Just seems a little excessive for that notification. But, that's up to you. |

Pro and Enterprise are the editions which are being offered Extended Support options. So I suppose it makes sense for that update not to be offered to those editions.
First I've read about it though. |

So Microsoft was once again caught delivering malware though Windows Update to lure users to downgrade to Windows 10. Seems like the outbreak of the GWX virus a few years ago.
Needless to say that Windows Update must be disabled on any sane Windows installation, but this once again confirms that. |

Do you have a link available for the "Extended Support" options? |

It's only being offered in business environments, not to home users.

that's actually a good thing, townsbg. Pro and Enterprise (and embedded) editions of Win7 will not be receiving KB4493132. Edit: the only way that you will get KB4493132 is if you change win7 editions by doing any one of the following: a. downgrade from win7 pro to win7 home premium (needs a clean install) b. upgrade from win7 pro to win7 ultimate (either by in-place upgrade or by windows anytime upgrade) and as I read this recent blog, KB4493132 seems to have been re-released yesterday: Windows 7 Update KB4493132 re-released (03/26/2019) | Born's Tech and Windows World |
