    I'm going to hold off on installing anyway. I usually wait at least a fortnight before I install them these days.

    Brink, the article has been updated to include info about it causing issues with Avira. Though no mention of Avast yet.
    This had been pulled then back on MUCatalog..and you're right most of the files remain the same by the date, though i didn't checked previous Tuesday patch files.

    So i guess this had been pulled for the purpose of MS's check then putted back after security software providers counsel

    Thanks again NoN. Seems I had already downloaded the reissued update then.

    Looks like Avast is also issuing info and updates for their products too:
    Avast Knowledge Base

    Although, it does only seem to affect Avast for Business and not the consumer versions.
