Neither of them ever install for me on this machine, but they install on my other one, the Gateway in my sig. I already tried Repair Install and the MS WeeklyUpdate fix. I've stopped obsessing about it.

I've always just stuck with the Security-only updates. Never had any issues installing those.
I have had issues in the past trying to install some rollups in a couple of VMs though, so I'm glad I've avoided them on my main systems.

There's nothing new feature-wise that will be added to Windows 7 now anyway, so I don't really understand why MS switched the servicing model. I suppose it does help with clean installs when using rollups, but I have my own offline methods for doing clean installs and installing updates anyway.

It's only the security updates I can't install, over a year now. I stopped panicking when I met a lot of 7 users online who said it didn't matter.

June 20, 2019—KB4503277 (Preview of Monthly Rollup)

I've installed this update this morning and am getting the MMC error. Has anyone installed the 'preview' monthly roll up which states it may fix the problem?

If not, I'm inclined to uninstall.

I've gone ahead and installed the monthly preview and it DOES fixed the MCC problem.

Before I installed it I had the errors when clicking on custom view and logs: See Post #3 . I installed it and only had the error show when clicking on custom view, the logs part was okay and I could go through my logs.

Now you're sayin' you uninstalled the preview and everything's working?

Hi anak No, I installed the update and wasn't able to view any logs, custom or otherwise. Brink said that the newly released monthly preview which I normally don't install, contained a fix. I went ahead and installed that and the logs are all working again.

So with the update, all of event viewer is back to working, right?

Been busy, haven't had the time to investigate why I'm throwin' an ASP.NET error when I click on custom views. see post #16 .

Gotta go, will check back later thanks!

Yes event viewer is fine now. I don't use it very often but it's good to know it's there if needed. Good luck with your updates.
