Not sure about this yet. Only read a couple of reviews of the beta but they were a bit mixed.
I currently use Avast and do regular scans with SUPERAntispyware, Malwarebytes and Sophos Anti-Rootkit.
Presumably I'd have to remove Avast.
    So would I be safer?

I couldn't say you would be safer. I can say that I ONLY use MSE (the ongoing beta) and I haven't had a virus in a while. Thought I had one but turns out the thing that I thought a virus caused, was my fault.

I feel safe with MSE. Thats all I can really say.

    Fair enough.
It would certainly save time on my Sunday routine (which includes Raxco Perfect Disk&CCleaner).
To just leave it to one app to deal with the nasties and I'd just do the tidying up would be nice.
    Anyone else got a view?:)

Since installing Windows 7 I'm only using Microsoft Security Essentials. I've been a fan and user of Eset's NOD32 for a number of years and have that still installed on my Vista partition, the renewal isn't until June next year, but thought I'd try out MSE on Windows 7 and if it worked out OK it would save me the cost of paying for another year with NOD32.

So far it is working out alright and causes no problems with slow downs and I don't have to remember to update it, I have it set to do a scan every Sunday, so far I'm happy with it's performance, I'm not in the beta program though so I'm just using the original version that was released but will update when the program says it's ready.

I have a lifetime subscription to SuperAntiSpyware but haven't got around to installing it on here yet and I used to always run SpywareBlaster but didn't install that either as I believe the added security in Windows 7 and IE8 at the moment serves my needs adequately. :)

Same for me. I was using NOD32 before the final version was in my hand. Then my NOD32 expired. Well, you can say, I have been morally against for paying any antivirus company for security after I read their history from the last week of Sept 09. So,I begin to use Avast Home as its free.I want it legally. Then Got MSE. I was using both MSE and Avast togather for a week-then uninstalled Avast because I felt I dont need it.
MSE along is enough for your system. Its very clear these antivirus companies will be fired after final release of MSE due to their economic loss --who cares--good for genuine Windows users

As DNG, and Joan I have been on MSE since Beta 1 release, and up till now no problems on either XP, Vista, or Win 7. Good application, and would (and do) recommend this to all. :)
