Office 2010 Beta Hits a Milestone!

    Posted: 03 Dec 2009
You may have already heard, but we have some exciting news from the Office team -- earlier this week we reached the 1 millionth download of Office 2010! This means that more than 1 million people across the world are now experiencing and testing the next version of Office. You’ll recall we launched the public beta just two weeks ago at the Professional Developer’s Conference and in reaching the 1 millionth download milestone, Office 2010 has had more people download it in the first two weeks than any other version of Office including Office 2007! It’s super gratifying to see so many people interested in experiencing the next version of Office and help us deliver the best product possible. Anyone who hasn’t yet downloaded Office 2010 should go to www.microsoft.com/2010, try it today, and send us your feedback via this blog or the newsgroups at http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...2007deployment.

Lies! I had to re-download Office so that means only 999,999 are experiencing it. LOL Anyways its good to see so many participating in the betas (who wouldn't?). Gives Microsoft a reason to continue public betas.

I'm experiencing a short keyboard delay as I type in any of the 2010 programs vs the 2003 office.
It's very short but feels like it's not responding well enough to the keyboard in general.

As this is a beta there is likely to be areas of debug code in the application - this could cause this type of delay - have not noticed it myself though

    I downloaded it...but I haven't used it yet. So 999,997.

It's probably because I have Office 2007 on my laptop, but I'm loathe to replace it with a beta that will expire and leave me stuck without any Office programs. I don't have any more installs left on my Office 2007 product key.

It was like that, and still is, in Office 2007 for me.
However no keyboard delay at all with any of the Mozilla or the OpenOffice products.

The internet is pretty loaded with the Office 2007 slow typing issue.

Outlook 2007 slow typing - MS Office Support

anyone have a typing delay when using outlook 2007 in Outlook General

Outlook Public. Slow typing in Outlook 2003

    etc. etc. . . .

I get that in 2007 also most of the time in Outlook.
