Wow, I am seriously impressed. I can't recall MS ever having listened so much to its users, and making appropriate changes based on that. Good Job, 7 Dev team.

1up.

Thanks, Steven. Very impressive. A lot of good news there. Sounds like the end of the quick launch bar for me too. Yippee.

These are good changes. Especially the Sync with device routine that would interupt my WMP whenever I plugged my phone in. Was looking all over for a way to stop that.

I'm finding the useability pretty good with Seven so far. I would suggest that quick launch is at least offered as an option. I still find it very useful to have my most used shortcuts tucked away on the taskbar and I don't pin apps there - to me pinning still looks confusing and messy.

The Fat32 fix was a no brainer. With dvd hardware that supports usb storage, the only file system supported IS Fat32. MS could have and should have seen this a WHILE back and fixed this before the public beta IMO.

I too have the headphone issue, although i have noticed it may not be a headphone issue as much as a per-application volume attention problem. Especially for games.

I have never understood this argument, and I myself am/was a big quick launch geek that NEVER combined windows at all from XP. The taskbar with pinning acts as one giant combined taskbar/quick launch. There is no confusion to see what is opened or in use. Now unless you were like me and had up to 30+ QL apps I could see where it may clutter up your taskbar. This is the only "con" i see, the prettyness.

For me, the option was simple, use another dock. Now I have found this answer available under a gadget's use. From every jump to a new OS, you will see yourself using probly more than one aspect of the previous OS in a different way in the next OS. For most things, its a productivity/useability preference. If the QL is used, this will for alot of apps, clutter the systray with minimized apps, instead of having them right in front of you on the taskbar, or having to click the arrow and scroll up and down on the QL to find your app shortcut... If it doesnt minimize to systray clutter, you are back where most ppl use their shortcuts/applications, and thats the taskbar, right where everything started. No need for "extra" mouse clicks to find things IMO.

Tho this isnt a communist country, having the option for QL should BE avail.... just remember, sometimes change IS good
