    Issue: You configure Windows Media Player 12 to display subtitles when you play a DVD. However, the video image flickers every time that a new line of subtitle is displayed. This problem occurs because of an issue in the way that the Enhanced Video Renderer (EVR) handles subtitle notifications

    Microsoft has released a hotfix to resolve an issue, where the video image flickers when you configure Windows Media Player 12 to display the subtitles of a DVD in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2.

While watching an avi movie if I minimize it, leave it minimized for a second or or two, then re-open the video lags or slows down for a few seconds then returns playing normal. This also happens if I maximize a window over media player, then close it, the video also lags.
When trying to play videos recorded from my digital camera, all I get is sound. No video shows. I had no problems on my previous operating system. Can anyone provide me with some insight?
