    Hi ted,
thanks, I thought it might interest people ...

Back to my confusion,, am currently checking out networking on three machines across four operating systems...

so far have confirmed Windows seven to Vista x86 and XP home and Vista/XP to Linux - will have to leave the Windows 7 to Linux as they're both on the same machine at the moment.

Now if I could just work out which OS I'm on now think I need a break

I really think AMD is too far behind to catch Intel. I used to be loyal to the AMD brand but since Core2, I haven't even considered AMD for lower performance, budget systems for friends.

Given that an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.6mhz costs A$328 and an AMD Dual Core 2.6mhz is A$113 and you can build a low cost AMD system for about A$450, why pay an extra $200 odd if they aren't going to see any benefit because of the way they use their comps. That's where AMD is the winner.

I really hope AMD can get these CPU's or any out soon that will be equal or faster than Intel.

I always rather support AMD than Intel any day, but that is getting harder and harder.
