What's your boot device -- an old 8 track Paper Tape reader / flexowriter.

5 min boot -- even an old fashioned IBM mainframe was a good way through it's Boot (or "IPL" - Initial Program Load" as it was called in those days) process.

You've got something seriously wrong -- are you sure its not trying weird network connections etc before starting.

I'd say around 30 secs is typical for anything from a humble laptop to a decent Quad processor with 8GB / 16 GB RAM installed.

    cheers

Your not alone sam, this slow boot time with 7057 has been reported by other users on other sites also. Not sure why it only affects some.

My bootup time is between 20-24 seconds every time!
So I guess the HW in my system really likes the 7057 x64 build!
    Really fast & smooth...

Also, after a clean installation, this is the about Windows I get with mine. There is no writing on expiration at all.
And yes, this was before I did any tweaks to the system.
Wonder why that is? Same with the 32bit version as well.
I also got this with build 7000 from MS downloads.
    No expiration date stated.

I don't think they were pre-hacked either because both had the desktop.ini startup bug with notepad & both had the watermarks as well.
I saw nothing that would make me suspect someone did anything with the ISO files.

Is there a way to see if the timebomb is still in there using cmd promp or something like that?

Open start and type winver and hit enter and it will show you the expiration date.
