Hmmm ...
I'm not sure that if there is any driver related problems in use of VLC.
I've been using VLC from it's first beginnnings, and of course now in windows 7 because of it's wide spectrum of supported formats, and didn't notice any problems or even differences in quality of reproductions between XP and Windows 7.I can't say for Vista because I just skipped Vista because I didn't like it and have uninstall it after, let's say 3 hours of use,but I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be no complains or differences either even if I did try it in Vista.
In first moment,it was little bit messy to get use to VLC,but after I have continued to use it in reproduction of literally every kind of media files(there is a big chance that if you put just a piece of paper with few notes on in front of monitor,it would play it ),it was messy to get back to WMP and other media players. There are setting options for absolutely everything included, and with fact that you need no codecs,VLC is my first pick in multimedia players.
