i dont support mac because i don't agree with their closed system. linux on the other hand i do enjoy from time to time however more as a novelty than something i would rely on for day to day use as i do windows.
The only people that should use Vista now are folks who bought a Vista license and aren't willing to drop cash again for another OS...
I somewhat fall into this boat. My wife's laptop came with Vista. I'm not upgrading it because it runs perfectly fine, doesn't have any issues, is very clean, and paid for. I don't see any reason whatsoever to move her to Windows 7.
Haha, what? 4 months to overtake OSX...that's just awesome.
Hi there
don't forget there was a HUGE pent up demand from XP users who didn't want to go the VISTA route.
Now W7 has been shown to be DECENTLY runnable on even older computers (within reason of course) there isn't much of a reason NOT to upgrade.
The idea of "Virtualisation" is also understood by many many more people and on those rare occasions you still NEED XP it's easy even on a small laptop to fire up a Windows XP Virtual machine --much better than a dual boot in any case.

Windows 7 overtakes both Vista and XP, but it will take several years. But why would it go so slowly? Get the explanation here.

Windows 7 May Not Be Much Faster Than Vista
Though Windows 7 edged out Vista in our lab tests, you may not notice much of a difference.
