I really like the Gadgets and of course it's quickness. It's just fun to use again!
I also used to have problems with freezes in one of my games - not any more !!!

It's given me a solid, fast, stable and trustworthy platform that is capable of withstanding all the stuff that a five-year old can put it through (and believe me that is a lot).

In fact I think one of the standard tests for the robustness of any software should be an extended user session with a five to seven year old child. If the system withstands that, it will take anything anyone can throw at it. This is not a joke...

I've seen my little niece do things to a system that even a hardened tester could not.

Seems I have had very few problems with this OS. My XP OS was a nightmare with the SP's. The only problems were with program installs. Now that they have been solved my Reliability Monitor is peaked. Not bad.

Windows 7 was most helpful to me in putting up a solid, stable and useful network. All kidding aside, the Library feature has been invaluable in bringing together and managing my massive collection of porn, I mean music.

As a concept, I like Vista better. It is more logical and has more useful functions. But with that said, I like the smaller footprint and speed of win7. The new taskbar is nice and the library concept is superb. And the Trim support for my SSDs is also nice. What I hate is all this useless eye candy stuff (maybe useful for little old ladies) and the fact that the controls have been spread all over the place (try to figure out why the access for Sytem Protection (restore points) is in Computer Properties and not in Backup and Restore). If it were not for the Start/search capability, one would find nothing most of the time.

Based on your comments I may hang onto to my Vista Ultimate 64-bit a tad longer. Has served me well for just over a year. I have no complaints re Vista, unlike many who run it down.

Absolutely right. Except for the very first months (I got Vista on day1 - Febr.1, 2007), I have had very little problems with it - especially after SP1. It is a superb operating system. The only complaint could be that it is a little heavy handed. But given enough muscle in the system (RAM plus SSD), Vista is fine.
