To all of you who responded, thank you for your kind words and guidance. I will search the other threads for info on my system issues.

Hi Carol, Searching the other threads is one way. But best would be if you just placed your own post in e.g. the "General" subforum. Then people will pick it up from there rather than from the middle of a post on a completely different subject. If you have any questions on how to do that, just ask.

Windows 7 has officially been out for 3 months to the public, while all of us here at Windows 7 News have had a bit longer than that to play around with Microsoft’s latest OS through the various Beta builds and RC’s, I’m sure many of you took advantage of the chance to try out the new OS for free as well. Many of you may still be running the RC1 version of Windows 7 right now.

I modify my OS to do what I want it to do. So, other then being more stable then the previous windows, I'd have to say not much in my case.

actually i have a confession Windows 7 has made me lazy.... the new "super search bar" means i never use the file system or the desktop anymore :P everything i use all the time is pinned and everything else i search for, i love the fact i can just type one word and get what i want (for instance, WLM just type "Mail" and its there on the top, Love it)
rather this makes you more productive or aides in procrastination it's a great thing to get used to.
wasnt complaining just worried what will happen if windows 8 comes along and it turns out they have broken the supersearch bar? not saying they will mind but its not unknown for MS to break the best part of an OS before....

As a DJ who is not a MAC fan boy (in the world of the DJ and production MAC is "the industry standard") W7 stabilizes DVS programs and DAW programs much better than Vista. I have noticed quicker response in Traktor Scratch Pro, as well as on programs such as Ableton and FL Studio. I'm loving W7 :)...

First off: First Post for me and I am glad I found this forum. I just pruchased an ASUS G60 gaming laptop with Win7 64X and it is smooth!

Second: Omarone, I have friends on east coast who DJ, there is an awesome forum that I frequent check it out. you can post sets and download sets. www.visionaryurbantactics.com/forum

Third: What Win7 did for me:
Upgraded my sys from old 32x XP to the (hopefully) new standard of 64x. I have updated most of my freeware programs to the newer ones offered in 64x (with help from this forum).

Also, Win7 didnt stray to far from the XP design so there was little visual transition. This is good and bad I guess. It is easy to use something you are familiar with, but a huge change would have been fun and exciting too.

You could also call that a step backwards - which it really is if you compare with Vista which was more advanced. But Win7 definitely has some qualities - but the XP "feel" is not one of them.

    Dear WHS,
Thank you , I will post my questions in a different area, after I take you up on your offer of directions on how to do it.

    Hi Carol,
It's really very simple. 1) go to the main page and click on General

    2) Once in General, click on New Thread

    3) In the posting window, give it a title that best represents the problem and then compose
the text with your question. Then Submit new Thread (on the bottom of the posting page).
