Last week, Microsoft posted a slew of non-security updates for Windows 7, one of which was titled as follows: "An update is available to improve the stability and the reliability of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2." Unfortunately, according to a thread on Microsoft TechNet, the update (KB977074) is actually breaking the stability and reliability of the operating system.

Here is a new piece from Arstechnica some of you may find interesting. It has to do with an update that came out on the 25th of January, 2010.

I was having a problem with Quicken 2009 not showing on the screen. It would load up and show itself in the "Superbar Thumbnail," but not on the screen. I was going crazy trying to figure out what was causing the problem then today I read this on Arstechnica, and what do you know, removing the update fixed the situation.

    Here is the web page.

So if you are some small or major problems read up on this update.
