    I don't get this...

This shift in attitude towards the OS is easily noticeable. A few weeks ago, positive Windows 7 comments outnumbered negative ones some 20 to one. Now, the ratio is close to one to one.
Where is the proof of that 1:1 ratio? Sounds more like his opinion than a fact. I don't know anyone out of hundreds of Windows 7 users here at my work that dislike it.
My thoughts exactly. Let the "writer" give the source of his "scientific poll" or simply admit he made it up.

Maybe what is happening here is that people are starting to realize that yes, Windows 7 is great ...when compared to Vista. But if not for the Vista debacle, what would people really think of windows 7?

Well I'm some one that don't like it.Yes it has some real nice features, but I just bought a new computer with OS7 on it.I also bought a new 22" monitor. The system did not set the resolution for the monitor.I had to do it manually. Not a big issue, but I didn't feel I should have to do that.It continually locks up.It does it so much,I can't put a finger on the problem.Windows Live Mail.I don't like the idea that I'm forced to use it.I was very happy with Outlook Express.I don't like the changes to the desktop folders.Especially picture folders. It seemed to me the old XP system was much easier to use.
Flame me now if you may,but I wanted to say that there is some of us out here that are not totally happy with OS7.
I will stay with it,because I feel I have no choice. It is the future.I'm sure at some point in time I will be more comfortable with it and that time can't come soon enough.
Recommend taking it back to where you bought it and tell them to replace it. New computers shouldn't be locking up out of the box.

I would like to recommend trying out different e-mail clients, I use thunderbird, till you find one you are comfortable with using.

And the picture libraries are just shortcuts to the folders that you are storing images. I believe I saw a tutorial on this forum that explains how to turn those off...
Thank you for your input.I will follow up on your advise and maybe take a run a taking my new computer back.

There will never be a "Best OS Ever"

All of us who can remember ( hides glass of J.D ) the same things have happened with
every OS. Be they MS or whatever.

A lot of people would be out of work if that were the case

7 is the best OS and there will always be people who think 7 is perfect and virtually everything works (me included) and those whose install doesn't work because their Pentium 4 and 256MB DDR RAM are not up to the task (or any task).

In all honestly, I like XP more. I only use Windows 7 cause I paid for it and don't want to feel like I wasted my money.

I don't know if Windows 7 killed my battery, but I have gone thru two OEM dell batteries in the time I have been testing Windows 7.

windows is not to blame, although there is a bug that windows thinks the battery is dead when it is not. that is being looked into
