I wonder how this update will react with people who are using the leaks, that came out between
Windows RC like 7201 etc, and the finished article 7600.

Who Owns Your PC? New Anti-Piracy Windows 7 Update "Phones Home" to Microsoft Every 90 Days
Greetings. Sometimes a seemingly small software update can usher in a whole new world. When Microsoft shortly pushes out a Windows 7 update with the reportedly innocuous title "Update for Microsoft Windows (KB971033)" -- it will be taking your Windows 7 system where it has never been before.
And it may not be a place where you want to go.

This is one update that I shall NOT install.
The update is already available to download:
http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...tionUpdate.exe
That is one link that I could do without.
Sorry Micorsoft. ET is going to have to use someone else's computer to phone home...
regarding this statement: "this will require that you not have your PC configured in update automatic installation mode, which has other ramifications -- so you may wish to consult a knowledgeable associate if you're not familiar with Windows Update configuration issues"
what other 'ramifications' should i be aware of?
